This autochrome -- an early form of color photography --
shows soldiers of the 3rd Zouaves relaxing at the camp of la Valbonne in
February 1913. A little over a year later, the colorful soldiers would
be plunged into the holocaust of World War One. Photo E.C.P. Armees
